Welcome to Pink Neighborhood!

Pink Neighborhood started with a business idea that blossomed into many ideas, which I brought together.  For a long time I wanted to go into business for myself, and was getting hung up on trying to find one thing to focus on.  I do a few things well, so I decided to go ahead and do those things and present them in one arena - this web site.

I have been painting my own furniture for years, and one day I thought: "Why not sell PAINTED FURNITURE?"  So I started painting lots of furniture and posting it on the web.  I am always open to new ideas, and the painting business keeps growing!  I now offer unique painted CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES, including lamp shades, silk ties, bags and purses, and pet supplies.  My items are featured in local retail stores, and I take a sampling of items to arts and crafts fairs every winter holiday season.  I admire the green company and strive constantly to be earth-friendly.  Since I started my own business, I recycle constantly.  I try to reuse, re-purpose, or pass along every item I come in contact with.  I paint old furniture, gently used clothing, decorative wood items, seashells, and found or discarded items.  I use flowers and other unusual items as paint applicators.  Weather permitting, I work outside as much as I can.

Other creative endeavors include making custom GIFT BASKETS, jewelry, and Christmas ornaments; and my greatest passion is SINGING.  My first solo CD, entitled AN EXPANSIVE PLACE, is due out in March 2009.  I have invited other artists and craftspeople to join Pink Neighborhood.  In this way the creative network expands, helping artisans increase their exposure and online shoppers find unique hand-crafted gifts.  See the Our Artists page for information.  Pink Neighborhood is growing!

My most recent venture is WEDDING PLANNING.  I enjoy variety, creativity, working with people, and organizing the details.  I am especially good at reducing the stress level of the couple getting married.  It is my dream to assist same gender couples in Massachusetts to create the best wedding celebration they can imagine.  I can also work within a small budget, which not all wedding planners are able to do!

The most important things to me are music, art, spirituality, being good to the earth, doing what you love, and spending all the time you can with those you love.  I hope this resonates with you, and you find something here you can use.  Thanks for stopping by.
